About RideLinks and the Information We Collect
RideLinks is an online ridematching service designed to provide an easy way for our members to meet other commuters on the Web. Once members create their own unique profiles, our matching technology provides them with instantaneous matches based upon their commuting criteria and personal preferences.

None of the information we gather can be used by the public (visitors, other members, and anyone not employed by RideLinks, its corporate affiliates, or the financial institutions we use to process membership charges) to identify a specific individual.

All visitors to our site may browse the site and search the profiles, but they must register with RideLinks in order to initiate contact with other registrants.

RideLinks Affiliate Partners
The Affiliate Partner program is a vehicle for other sites to link to the RideLinks site. No personal member information is exchanged with the Affiliate partner.

Information Collected/Tracked by RideLinks
RideLinks gathers two types of information: information that is submitted to us and information that is not submitted to us.

Information submitted to RideLinks
There are two types of information we collect that users submit: public and private. We define private information to be any information that allows others to contact a user other than through RideLinks or allows the collection of information about the user other than what is displayed on the site. Public information is personal information that may be displayed on the site, such as gender, age and height, but cannot be linked to a particular user.

PRIVATE:
This information is gathered from registered users. This information includes, but is not
limited to, email address, IP address, first name, last name, and address. RideLinks asks when we need information that personally identifies you ("Personal Information"). For example, RideLinks asks for your name, contact information and other identifying information when you register and fill out your profile information, or for sweepstakes or other promotions sponsored by RideLinks and/or its promotional partners. We use your Personal Information to operate RideLinksí services, verify your identity with all commercially reasonable efforts, provide you with the highest quality services and offer you opportunities we think will be of interest. If your Personal Information is incorrect you should email Customer Service with the proper information.

PUBLIC:
To accomplish our goal of bringing compatible people together, we must gather personal information such as commute routines, car make, gender, age, profession, hobbies, and more. This information is meant to be seen by visitors to the site but cannot be used to identify a specific member by name, address, etc.

Information that users do not submit to us
AGGREGATE: This is information we collect that is not personally identifiable, such as browser type and IP address. This information is gathered for all visitors to the site.
Aggreate data is data that is statistically derived from individual data, such as the population of ridesharers by region or the statistical profiles of the makes and types of cars people drive.

Use of Information Obtained by RideLinks
Information that users submit to us

PRIVATE:
Email addresses submitted by members are used by us when forwarding anonymous emails. Respondees' email addresses are not disclosed to the responder. We may use a user's email address to send news regarding our site. The user may choose not to receive email of this type by editing their commute profile on the RideLinks site or by contacting us at privac.

Make sure to type the following within the body of the email: REMOVE FROM INFO-LIST. Email addresses may also be used in private correspondence with the user for customer service issues All other private information submitted by the user is confidential and will not be disclosed except as required by law or to protect members of RideLinks. All private information can be updated or deleted by the user at any time.

RideLinks' Affiliate Partners

Information submitted by the Affiliate Partner is used for establishing and maintaining a business relationship. No personal or business information is shared outside the relationship between RideLinks and the Affiliate Partner. Affiliate Partners may not view or access private information on members or users of our site.

PUBLIC: Public information supplied by the user is intended to be viewed by registrants and subscribers to the site. This information is used by registrants for searching and matching purposes.

Information that users do not submit to us
AGGREGATE: We use your server, IP address, and browser-type related information in the general administration of our website.

Sharing of the Information Obtained by RideLinks
We do not sell, rent, share, trade or give away any of your private information without
your permission unless required by law or for the protection of your membership.

Chat Rooms and RideBoard Bulletin Boards
Our site makes chat areas and bulletin boards available to its users. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information online.

RideLinks may place a "cookie" in the browser files of your computer. The cookie itself does not contain any Personal Information although it will enable RideLinks to relate your use of RideLinks to information that you specifically provided to RideLinks. Direct Mailings and Opting In

RideLinks, its partners, or advertisers will not send you information about various products and services, except for news bulletins relating to the service offerings of RideLinks, Inc. unless specifically allowed by you by choosing to "opt in" during registration or through selecting "opt-in" from the Preferences area of RideLinks.

RideLinks will NOT disclose any Personal Information except as described above or in the Service Agreement. RideLinks does disclose user information, including demographic data, and browser related information in an aggregated form that does not identify individual users in order to describe its services to prospective partners, advertisers and other third parties and for other lawful purposes.

RideLinks' users should be aware that when they voluntarily disclose Personal Information to other users or third parties on the RideLinks system, through email or outside of the RideLinks system, that information can be collected and used by others and may result in unsolicited messages from other members or parties. While RideLinks strives to protect your Personal Information, RideLinks cannot guarantee the security of any information that you transmit to RideLinks and you are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of any passwords or other membership information. In addition, RideLinksí partners and other Internet sites or services which may be accessible through RideLinks have separate data and privacy practices independent of RideLinks and RideLinks disclaims any responsibility or liability for their policies or actions.

RideLinks gives members the following options for modifying or removing their information from our database:
